One of the key events in the creative industry once again showed us that building a personal brand is
not a one-time activity, but an ongoing process – a path that requires multi-faceted understanding.
Many speakers with different experiences and worldviews ultimately shared their personal brand
creation stories with us, and all of these stories had one thing in common.
What does it mean to be “on the path” when building a personal brand?
In this context, “being on the path” means constantly developing, adapting and learning. This is not the
creation of a one-time strategy, no matter how long-term it may be, but a dynamic journey where we
take steps towards our goals every day. This path involves getting to know yourself and, often, accepting
yourself, defining your values, and exploring how you can bring unique value to others.
Knowing your final goal, or where you want to go with your personal brand, is the cornerstone of a
successful journey. Without a goal, every step you take will be chaotic and unachievable.
From this perspective, it is equally important to focus on both the process and the outcome when
building your personal brand. Focusing solely on outcomes can be frustrating if you don’t evaluate and
celebrate your progress along the way. On the other hand, focusing solely on the process can lead to
distractions.
Finding the golden mean is in paying attention to your daily steps, learning from mistakes, and
appreciating progress, while also keeping your final goal in mind and moving toward it.
One of the most important Spotlight 2025 insights for me came from Alex Chikovani, a person with 25+
years in branding, who said that one of the most important steps on the path to personal branding is to
be honest with yourself. This means acknowledging your strengths and weaknesses, and admitting that
you’ve fallen short. Only when you’re truly honest with yourself, you can walk the main path of your life
with clarity. And from that point of acceptance can you create an authentic and memorable story.
You can start working on your personal brand at any age and any stage of your career, and it really starts
with being honest with yourself – understanding who you are, what you’re capable of, and where you
want to go. It’s an ongoing process that continues throughout your life.
Another observation from Alex Chikovani that I completely agree, is that personal branding, above all, is
about benefiting others. No matter how amazing and unique you are, your brand is only strong when it
can solve your audience’s problems, inspire, educate, make them feel different. When the goal is to
create value for others, your personal brand will naturally grow and strengthen.
Unconditional love for your work helps us in this. The power that can make the impossible possible. This
love pushes you to constant development, innovation, and perfection. It adds authenticity and sincerity
to any human brand. And this was echoed in the stories of all the speakers in different ways.
In my opinion, the most important message of Spotlight.ge 2025 was that “the more strong personal
brands there are in the homeland, the better the homeland itself will be.”
Because each of us contributes to the common victory of Georgia on our country’s main path – to
Europe!
