There are many stereotypes, fears, superstitions and illusions about money. Studies have shown that
wealth or poverty depends not on how much we work, but on our attitude towards money.
I have been researching this topic in the context of personal branding for a long time, and it is a great
honor that such an literary project as Blue Ocean (Palitra L Publishing House) invited me to be a
consultant for an outstanding book on the topic of money, Morgan Housel's “;The Psychology of Money”;.
What makes this book so interesting?
First of all, the fact that the majority of the population of our country still thinks in many psychological
stigmas towards money. Morgan Housel's “;The Psychology of Money”; is created in a completely
different paradigm. And I think it’s a unique, and I would say, sobering, information for the Georgian
reader.
In this book, you will discover a number of truths that we often fail to notice. For example:
• We are always paid less than we want:
• The main thing is luck, where and when we were born;
• What the word “enough” actually means, because nothing valuable is given for free;
• Saving money does not need a reason;
• What is the difference between receiving money and keeping money;
• Why should we plan to invest;
• What is the highest form of wealth;
• Why money is a resource, but never a goal;
• Why working a lot does not mean earning a lot.
The subtitle of the book sounds: Timeless lessons on wealth, greed, and happiness. Happiness is not
mentioned here by chance. We all want to have a lot of money. But a lot of money does not mean
wealth. Just as it does not mean happiness.
More control over one's own time and abilities is already one of the most valuable currencies in the
world. This is the starting point of personal branding. Because a person with a strong personal brand is
always capable, wisely manages his resources – psychological, physical or financial, and most
importantly, knows exactly what his “;why”; is.
The role of finances is to do what we want, when we want, for as long as we want, with the people we
love. This is happiness, and not just a lot of money.
